Top Da Nang leader inspects progress of key medical projects
Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang on Tuesday visited two key medical projects, namely the Centre for Organ and Stem Cell Transplantation and the Centre for Neurosurgery, Trauma and Plastic Burns under the Da Nang General Hospital.

During his inspection visits, Secretary Quang praised the project developers and construction units for overcoming subjective and objective difficulties to speed up the progress of the project. The workforce is now arranged to work 3 shifts/day.
The city’s Party chief suggested that, in addition to the timely implementation of the project, the quality of the work must be a top priority.
The Da Nang General Hospital is highly responsible for speeding up site clearance to create favourable conditions for the construction unit to speed up the project.
Secretary of Quang affirmed that once fully operational, the two important medical projects will help the city's health system develop to a new height, especially helping the Da Nang General Hospital become a high-quality medical facility meeting the needs of medical examination and treatment with the application of high-tech medical techniques in Central Viet Nam.

Approved by the municipal government in May 2019 with a total investment of more than VND 471 billion, the Centre for Neurosurgery, Trauma and Plastic Burns project covers with a total floor area of more than 23,402m2.
The project is designed with the main block of 11 floating floors, 2 basements and a wastewater treatment system with a daily capacity of 1,700m3 and sufficient modern and medical equipment.
With work commencing in April 2020, this important project is scheduled to be completed and put into use in July 2023.
After 2 years of construction, the Organ and Stem Cell Transplantation Centre at the Da Nang General Hospital, the largest of its kind in Da Nang, is entering the completion stage.
The project was approved by the Da Nang People's Committee dated May 13, 2019 with a total investment of more than VND495 billion.
In addition to the renovation and transformation of functional departments at the hospital, the main building block features 11 floors, two basements and one technical floor with a gross internal floor area of more than 19,000m2 and synchronous medical equipment.
Up to now, the main construction work has completed and the installation of construction equipment is in progress. The accumulated volume of project work is equivalent to 71.06% of the contract value.

As assessed by Mr. Nguyen Huu Nhat, the Director of the Da Nang Management Board for Urban Infrastructure Construction and Development Projects,this key project significantly contributes to changing the face of the Da Nang health sector, turning this city into an organ and stem cell transplant centre in the Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands regions.
The synchronous investment capital channeled in such facilities will help the Da Nang healthcare sector improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, meeting the increasing needs of residents inside and outside the city in the coming time.
