Since the beginning of the year, the Da Nang Steering Committee for the campaign has issued a plan to implement the campaign "Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods' this year.

The campaign aims to provide a boost for cooperatives and business establishments across the city to conquer customers with their high-quality products.

In addition, the intention is to bring essential services and goods, along with One Commune-One Product (OCOP), agricultural products, typical products which all are made in Da Nang, plus Vietnamese goods as a whole, to consumers across the city, thereby increasing purchasing power in the local market, stabilizing the local market, contributing to ensuring the effective implementation of the theme of 2023 as 'The year focuses on unleashing resources, attracting investment, maintaining economic growth and ensuring social welfare'.

The campaign is expected to engage authorities at all levels, all sectors and businesses, and all local citizens. The focus will be on enhancing the roles and responsibilities of authorities at all levels and socio-political organizations in ensuring effective implementation of the campaign.

Importance will be strengthening supervision, inspection and control of the local market, as well as protecting the interests of consumers through education, mobilization and representation. Special attention will be paid to encouraging local residents to combat and denounce acts of production or trading in counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, commercial fraud and other violations.

Most recently, Hai Chau District’s Nam Duong Ward Chapter of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee  has organized a ‘cashless’ Vietnamese goods Fair. The fair featured 12 booths, and its intention was to introduce locally sourced food and products to Da Nang residents, thereby contributing to changing consumption habits and behavior among local residents in using Vietnamese goods, as well as promoting cashless payments.

Besides, the Nam Duong Ward has raised nearly VND 300 million for local Fund ‘For the Poor’. Of which, 70 million VND was spent on providing livelihood support and repairing downgraded houses for 3 poor households and 1 near-poor household, respectively.

Previously, Cam Le District’s Khue Trung Ward had opened a charity fair with 8 stalls that allowed poor people to choose and buy essential items on store shelves for zero dong on the occasion of the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2023. The charity fair aimed to provide good spiritual and material care for local poor and disadvantaged households in a bid to help them have a warm and joyful Tet, as well as encourage them overcome their difficulties in life and have a better life, contributing to spread the love in our community in a meaningful and practical way.

Apart from promoting Vietnamese goods, the fair aimed to raise awareness of officials, party members, trade union members, youth union members and people from all walks of life about voluntarily using Vietnamese products. In addition, importance was attached to calling for public participation in reporting illicit trade in fake or counterfeit goods to functional bodies.

Since the beginning of the year, charity fairs have taken place in 5 residential areas across the ward with the purpose of giving essential items for Tet to disadvantaged people at a total cost of nearly VND 56 million. Included were rice, instant noodles, Tet cakes and candies.

In the coming time, the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee and its member organizations will continue their efforts to raise awareness and educate the public about changing their shopping habits in choosing locally-made products. Heed will be paid to supporting production and business establishments along with cooperatives to boost their production. Special attention will be paid to promoting typical products, startup products and others made in Da Nang, as well as bringing Vietnamese goods to remote rural communities. Importance will be attached to enhancing inspection and control of local market, as well as safeguarding the interest of consumers.
