Over 50,000 storm and flood-affected people get timely support
From November 1, 2022 - April 30, 2023, the Viet Nam Red Cross Society Central Committee and its chapters in provinces and cities nationwide plans to support 50,591 people affected by storms and floods in Da Nang, Nghe An, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Thua Thien Hue with a total budget of more than VND12.7 billion.
In particular, 1% of the total budget will be allocated to the Viet Nam Red Cross Society Central Committee, 5% to Da Nang, 19% to Quang Ngai, 22% to Thua Thien Hue, 24% to Quang Nam and 29% to Nghe An.
During the period of implementing the support project, the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Red Cross and its chapters in provinces and cities nationwide are supporting the conditional and unconditional cash distribution to needy households, organized 90 training sessions and 10 communication events on clean water and sanitation and disease prevention and control in emergency situations for 8,773 people.
In addition, communication and reporting technical training courses are being organized.
