Son Tra garbage transfer station continues to increase operating capacity
On Monday, the SEEN Engineering JSC, the Saigon Transportation Mechanical One Member Company Limited (SAMCO) and the Son Tra Environmental Enterprise increased the capacity of the garbage transfer station in Son Tra District, Da Nang, aiming to meet the needs of treating domestic waste generated in the area.
Currently, the Son Tra Environmental Enterprise collects an average of 185 tonnes of garbage per day. The collected trash is then transported to the Son Tra garbage transfer station to be pressed into large containers that are dumped at the Khanh Son Landfill.
At the same time, the enterprise starts to implement the model of garbage collection mechanisation in the district by using 10 garbage trucks with a loading weight of 1.5 - 4.5 tonnes each and removing large garbage collection points in An Hai Bac and Nai Hien Dong wards and surrounding areas.
In addition, bulky and large-sized garbage such as beds, cabinets, tables, chairs and mattresses are collected and transported to the station to be crushed, and pressed into large containers which are then taken to the Khanh Son landfill.
The maximum garbage compaction capacity of the Son Tra garbage transfer station which was put into operation from January 13, 2023 is 200 tonnes per day. Till date, about 10,000 tonnes of garbage have been pressed and transported to the Khanh Son landfill.
