6,500 vouchers given to poor workers

The Workers' Month and the Action Month for Labour Safety and Hygiene 2023 were officially launched in Da Nang on Friday evening.

The launching ceremony was co-organised by the Trade Union organisation and the Authority of of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks, the Labour Union of Lien Chieu District, and the district’s Centre of Culture, Information and Sports.

In her remarks at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Trade Union organisation of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks Le Thi Ngoc Oanh said the Workers' Month 2023 took ‘Connecting workers, building organisations’ as its theme.

She added, during the month, trade unions at all levels will organise various activities, with a focus on improving material and spiritual life of workers, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of trade union members and employees, enhancing working conditions, and building harmonious, stable and progressive labour relations in enterprises.

Besides, the Trade Union organisation of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks coordinated with 22 businesses and partners to open the Workers' Fair 2023 at the Administrative Centre of Lien Chieu District. Accordingly, 5% - 15% discount were offered on the prices of more than 1,000 essential products at the fair.

To mark this occasion, the Trade Union organisation of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks presented 6,500 vouchers, totalling VND650 million, to 2,125 poor trade union members and workers.

Additionally, a combined total of VND396 million went to help 400 trade union members who suffered from occupational accidents and diseases, fatal diseases and job loss.
