Hoa Lien water plant slated to start operation in Q2
The Da Nang People's Committee has issued plans on responding to drought and saltwater intrusion, and ensuring domestic water supply across the city in this year’s dry season.

Accordingly, the city strengthens supervision of exploitation and use of water resources in the Vu Gia - Thu Bon river basin to ensure safe water supply for the city until the end of the dry season and maintain a minimum flow in the river.
Also, measures are taken to ensure the discharging of water from hydropower reservoirs according to the process of inter-reservoir operation in the Vu Gia - Thu Bon river basin when the river water salinity at the raw water intake gate of the city’s Cau Do water plant is more than 1,000mg/l for 24 consecutive hours.
Relevant agencies are in charge to strengthen inspection and supervision of exploitation and use of water resources in rivers and streams within the city; take measures to ensure flow circulation, prevent erosion along riverbanks and protect the quality of water resources and domestic water sources; ensure the operation of An Trach, Ha Thanh, Thanh Quyt and Bau Nit water-raising dams in the dry season.
Under the plan, to put Hoa Lien water plant into official operation in the second quarter of 2023, it will be identified as public asset operated by the Urban Infrastructure Management Centre under the Da Nang Department of Construction with a mission of ensure smooth water supply network across the city.
The city’s authorities will mull over the construction of a temporary dam on Quang Hue River that flows through Dai Loc District, Quang Nam Province if necessary, advise on building temporary dams to prevent salinity on Cam Le River, storing water at households and promote economical and efficient use of water.
