Workers' month launched in Da Nang

The Da Nang Public-Sector Trade Union held a ceremony on Tuesday to launch the Workers' Month and the Festive Day of Initiatives 2023.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairwoman of the municipal Public-Sector Trade Union Nguyen Thi Dung said that during the month, the Trade Union will promote activities to take care of its members, civil servants, public employees and workers. The focus will be on organising ‘May Dialogue’, ‘Thank you to employees’ activity, ‘Workers for businesses, businesses for workers’ talk show, and a peak month to develop trade union members,

The Trade Union associated Workers' Month activities with the organisation of trade union congresses at all levels for the 2023-2028 term, promoting the implementation of the "1 million initiatives" programme.

Also at the launching ceremony, the city’s Public-Sector Trade Union held an Festive Day of Initiatives to promote the second phase of the "1 million initiatives" programme among cadres, civil servants, public employees and labourers with a target of achieving 1,250 initiatives in phase 2 of the programme.

On the occasion, the organisers awarded Certificates of Merit from the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labor to 2 collectives, and the emulation flags from the municipal Confederation of Labour to 2 collectives with excellent achievements in labour movements.

In addition, Certificates of Merit from the municipal Public-Sector Trade Union were given out to 5 collectives in recognition of their good achievements in the "1 million initiatives" programme, and 12 collectives and individuals in studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle in 2023.
