35 winners of municipal-level Press Award 2022 honoured

The Da Nang Journalists’ Association held a ceremony on Saturday morning to celebrate the 98th anniversary of the Viet Nam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21) and present the municipal-level Press Award in 2022.

In her remarks at the ceremony, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen congratulated the authors and groups of authors who have won the municipal-level Press Awards 2022.

She also highlighted important role of the city-based press agencies in widely publicising the Party's lines and guidelines, the State's policies and laws and the country's achievements, thereby contributing to promoting the city’s socio-economic development, raising public awareness, and meeting people's healthy cultural needs.

Vice Chairwoman Yen asked press agencies and journalists to change their thinking and ways of doing things; as well as combine good content and modern technology to master digital and social media platforms in the context of Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the municipal Journalists’ Association Nguyen Duc Nam said recent years have seen an increasing number of journalists in the city who have gradually matured in terms of politics, ideology and journalism.

He added the city’s press agencies continued to play the role of the voice of the Party and State and a forum for the people; proactively, timely and effectively provided information on major national and local issues; and increasingly showed the leading role in directing public opinion and creating social consensus.

Also at the event, the organisers awarded 7 first, 6 second, 6 third and 16 consolation prizes to outstanding reporters.

Reporters from the Da Nang Newspaper won many awards at the municipal-level Press Award in 2022. In particular, reporter Trieu Van Tung won the first prize for three articles about solutions to develop the central key economic zone, and reporters Ngoc Phu, Son Trung, Hoang Nhung, Hoang Hiep, and Trong Huy won consolation prizes.

On the occasion, the Viet Nam Journalists’ Association awarded the medal "For the cause of Viet Nam's journalism" to 6 qualified journalists. The municipal Journalists’ Association donated scholarships poor studious students.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen launched the Da Nang Press Prize 2023, and a representative of the Viet Nam Journalists’ Association launched the 1st South Central Coast Press Prize in 2023.
