The launch of the event aims to respond to the National Action Month for Children 2023 entitled ‘Joining Hands to Reduce Harm to Children’ which takes place across the country between June 1 and 30.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen requested local departments, agencies, mass organisations and localities to proactively deploy the Action Month for Children with practical, effective and appropriate forms of functions and tasks.

Top priority will be given to raising public awareness and action in the performance of child protection, care and education; and imparting legal knowledge on child protection, and skills to prevent and reduce the risk of harm to children, especially for parents, teachers and caregivers.

The focus will be on strengthening the initiative, creativity and coordination among stakeholders in the implementation of measures to prevent, support, intervene and solve children's problems; and strictly handling cases of violations of children's rights.
