Currently, 5,997 elderly people are involved in the work of Party committees, authorities, fronts, and grassroots mass organisations. They are considered to be the core force in promoting the role of the elderly in the city.
Over the past years, the municipal authorities at all levels have been paying attention to supporting and caring for the elderly.
Specifically, the focus has been on giving active support for the elderly in difficult circumstances, and organising cultural and sports activities for the elderly.
In addition to implementing the current mechanisms, the municipal Association of the Elderly and its chapters across the city facilitate their members to access new knowledge and technologies, as well as improve their material and spiritual life.
