On Friday, the Da Nang General Science Library and the city's Social Work Centre jointly organised a programme to guide reading for children in Hoa Lien Commune, Hoa Vang District.

During the programme, children and their parents in Hoa Lien Commune were equipped with knowledge and skills to prevent abuse, and support children who are abused or at risk of being abused or being bullied (including cyberbullying).

Besides, the library staff provided them with a guide to read faster and memorise more; as well as introduced them to books about child abuse prevention, and a mobile library cart. In addition, there were many interesting interactive games.

This is the opening activity for a series of cooperation activities between the Da Nang General Library of Science and the city's Social Work Centre in order to develop a reading culture and publicise social work and child protection services in 2023.

The purpose of the cooperation activities is to equip children with helpful skills to prevent and combat abuse; as well as help them access many good and useful books, thereby contributing to maintaining reading habits, and spreading reading culture to students in the summer.
