Shelter for disadvantaged children celebrates its founding anniversary

The Da Nang Centre for Raising Disadvantaged Children, known as the Village of Hope, celebrated its 30th anniversary on Thursday. In attendance at the event was Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People's Committee Ngo Thi Kim Yen.

The Hope Village is a social organisation, working for humanitarian purposes to raise orphans and disabled children aged 6 - 18 from Da Nang and neighbouring Quang Nam Province.

Over the past 30 years, the Hope Village has raised more than VND 91 billion both in cash and in-kind donations to care for nearly 800 orphans and disabled children. 85 of them children have graduated from universities and colleges.

To mark this occasion, the Da Nang authorities honoured organizations and individuals working at the Hope Village for their outstanding achievements in caring and raising the disadvantaged children.
