5,000 new lotus flower bouquets replaced at martyrs' cemeteries
On the occasion of the 76th anniversary of Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947-July 27, 2023), on Saturday morning, the Da Nang Youth Union coordinated with the Da Nang branch of the Viet Nam Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel Da Nang) to organise the programme ‘Flower offerings to martyrs’ at 8 martyrs’ cemeteries in the city. They were the Da Nang Martyrs’ Cemetery, and others in the wards of Hoa Tho Dong, Hoa Khanh Nam, Hoa Minh, Hoa Hai and Hoa Quy, and the communes of Hoa Phong and Hoa Phuoc.

Under the programme, more than new 5,000 bouquets and vases of lotus flowers, totalling VND over 140 million, were placed at martyrs' graves in a bid to express their deep gratitude to fallen heroes for their sacrifices for the country's independence, demonstrating the national tradition of “when drinking water, remember its source”.
Also on the same day, leaders of the municipal Youth Union visited and gave gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers namely Pham Thi Ta residing in Lien Chieu District’s Hoa Hiep Nam Ward; Pham Thi Thin in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Khuong Commune; Nguyen Thi Truoc in Cam Le District’s Khue Trung Ward; and Nguyen Thi Su in Hai Chau District.
During the visits, leaders of the municipal Youth Union expressed their deep gratitude to heroic Vietnamese mothers and martyrs for their sacrifices in the cause of struggle for national liberation and defence.
At the same time, they wished all mothers good health and to continue to encourage their children and grandchildren to promote the good traditions of the family, thereby contributing to the construction of the homeland and the country.
