Careful preparation for DIFF 2023 finale

All forces should be mobilised to carefully prepare for the grand finale of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2023 which will take place on Saturday, July 8.

That direction was made by municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh at the Monday meeting to review the organisation of four competition nights and the preparatory works for the forthcoming final night.

During the meeting, Chairman Chinh praised the efforts of relevant units and departments over 4 competition nights of DIFF 2023.

For the scenario of the grand finale, the city's leader suggested the municipal Department of Culture and Sports and the Sun Group ensure the thoughtful preparation for the upcoming grand finale.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen, Head of the festival’s Organising Board, said that the number of visitors to the final competition night is predicted to significant increase compared to other nights. She, therefore, stressed the need for relevant units to ensure order security and traffic safety.

According to recent statistics, the number of guests staying in Da Nang during the four fireworks competition nights reached 239,930. 82,958 of them were international visitors, whilst the remaining 157,972 were domestic tourists.

The average room occupancy rate at accommodation establishments in the city reached at about 70%. Currently, there are 20 tourist boats serving with 2,008 seats, reaching 100% operating capacity in the four nights of performance.

It is forecast that the number of guests staying in Da Nang in the final night is estimated at 63,200. Of which, international guests are expected to be 19,000, and domestic guests will stand at 44,200.
