At its 12^th session in its 10^th tenure for the 2021 - 2026 term on Wednesday, the Da Nang People's Council passed a resolution on granting more than VND 22.4 billion from the city budget to build new houses and repaire downgraded ones for 615 people with meritorious services in 2023.

Also at the meeting, the municipal People’s Council passed a resolution stipulating the objects and levels of gifts on the occasion of anniversaries and annual action months in the city.

In particular, cash gifts, worth VND500,000 each, will be given to children with special circumstances on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Meanwhile, scholarships, valued at VND2 million each, will be presented to poor pupils and students who overcome their difficulties to gain good academic results.

Women with diseases requiring long-term treatment according to the prescribed list of diseases, the disabled and the elderly living below or near the city's poverty threshold will receive hardship allowance of VND2 million/person/time on the occasion of Viet Nam's Action Month for Gender Equality and Gender-Based Violence Prevention, the Viet Nam Day of Persons with Disabilities, and the Action Month for the Elderly.

At units and establishments (social assistance establishments; production and business establishments exclusively for people with disabilities; hospitals; specialised schools; associations related to children and people with disabilities and the elderly), the city's leaders will visit and give gifts with a maximum amount of not more than VND11 million/unit/time (in which not more than VND10 million of cash, and not more than VND1 million of in kind gift) on the occasion of International Children's Day, Mid-Autumn Festival, Viet Nam Day of People with Disabilities, and Viet Nam Elderly Day.
