A group of senior high school pupils in Da Nang have been active in carrying out many charity fundraising activities to give gifts to children in the border area of Quang Binh Province in the build up to Mid-autumn Festival which will fall on September 29 this year.

A group of students together contributed money to buy ice cream and then sold it to raise fund for needy children in Quang Binh Province during the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival.

Specifically, the group of young people raised more than VND5 million from selling ice cream at the recent 8th Viet Nam - Japan Festival 2023 at the city’s East Sea Park.

Apart from ice cream, the student group sold items and bags made from bamboo with motifs of places and people of Da Nang to raise more funds for their upcoming activities.

Previously, they raised nearly VND7 million from selling ice cream at the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2023 and the Light Festival 2023.

Moreover, these students bought Japanese bonsai pots and sold them for VND200,000/pot. The sale of trees will be used for forthcoming charity activities in Quang Binh Province.

Mrs. Le Thi Hieu Ngan from Ho Chi Minh City said that I immediately bought a lot of ice cream for my children because I wanted to make a small contribution to the group’s charity activities.

16-year-old Huynh Minh Tri, a leader of the charity group, said that aside from raising charity funds to support needy children in Quang Binh Province, the sale of items at this year’s Viet Nam - Japan Festival aimed to raise public awareness about environmental protection as well as widely promote the scenic spots and people of Da Nang to both domestic and foreign visitors.

In the near future, the group plans to grow trees in recycled pots and give them to the Da Nang-based Tam Tri General Hospital, as well as organise other fundraising activities until the Mid-Autumn Festival 2023.
