The typhoon is expected to move northwestwards with a speed of 10-15km/h, and at 1:00 p.m on July 27, the storm's centre was at about about latitude 21°8'N and longitude 118°8'E with its intensity unchanged.

Under the impacts of strong winds and high waves caused by Doksuri, the eastern waters of the East Sea may experience strong winds, reaching levels of 7-8 by the afternoon of July 26, with wave heights estimated at 5-7 metres. Regions closer to the storm’s center may face even stronger winds at levels 10-11, with gusts of up to level 14.

The Central Highland, southern provinces, and localities stretching from Thua-Thien Hue to Binh Thuan are at risk of prolonged thunderstorms and heavy downpours in the coming hours.

In a bid to proactively deal with Doksuri, on July 25, the Da Nang Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense issued a notice informing about the track of the typhoon.

Focus must be on keeping a close watch on severe weather development, and keeping owners of vessels operating at sea timely informed about severe weather conditions in order to help them take the initiative to avoid dangerous areas or seek safe shelters during the bad weather.

Importance must be attached to making the resources available in order to organize timely rescue of any person in distress at sea and provide timely support for those who need it during severe weather.

*Previously, Doksuri, swept towards the northern Philippines on Tuesday as it headed towards the northern tip of the main island of Luzon, triggering evacuation orders for coastal communities expected to bear the brunt of the powerful storm.
