Since its inauguration in June 2023, the outdoor play area in the campus of the community house in Nam Thanh Village, Hoa Phong Commune, Hoa Vang District, has been filled with children's laughter in late afternoons.
The outdoor play area is jointly built by the Da Nang Children's Palace and the Youth Union organisation in Hoa Vang District in May 2023 with a total cost of VND 50 million.
It is equipped with outdoor fitness and entertainment equipment such as slides, seesaws, air walkers, twist machines, arm wheel machines, a ping pong table, and a bookcase.
Additionally, local children are given sports equipment, including football, badminton racquets, and table tennis, thereby helping them to practice sports and improve their health in the summer vacation.
Next to the community house in Huong Phuoc Village, Hoa Lien Commune, Hoa Vang District was previously an empty area with many overgrown plants and garbage, causing environmental pollution. Meanwhile, this area is quite crowded with children but lacks amusement and entertainment areas.
Faced with the above situation, the municipal Youth Union coordinated with Youth Union organisations of the city’s Customs Department and the city branch of the State Bank of Viet Nam to build the VND105 million children's play area next to the community house in Huong Phuoc Village. The land was installed with slides, seesaws, swings and a number of gymnastics and sports equipment.
Deputy Secretary of the municipal Youth Union Nguyen Thi Anh Thao said that since 2022 the Youth Union, the Team Council and the Youth Union's facilities have built 28 amusement parks for young people, children and adults at a total cost of about VND3.5 billion.
The outdoor entertainment parks, after being put into use, create a healthy, safe and useful playground for children and young people, and at the same time raise awareness in the community to protect the environment and create a green - clean - beautiful landscape in residential areas.
In the coming time, the municipal Youth Union will continue calling on more organisations and businesses to build cultural institutions and free play areas for children.
