Between 2017 and 2022, a total of over VND 24.3 billion went to support poor households with children to sustainably escape from poverty, the Da Nang Association of Charities and Children's Rights Protection announced on Wednesday.

Specifically, the money was used to support more than 16,700 turns of households to build new houses and repair downgraded ones, provide means of livelihoods, and grant over 16,230 scholarships to poor studious pupils and students.

Up to now, through the Association's support programmes, 230 families have escaped poverty sustainably. Many practical support models and movements have been widely and effectively deployed in localities.

In the coming time, in order to continue promoting its role and effectiveness in charity programmes, the Association will continue to closely and synchronously coordinate with departments, branches and localities in surveying and supporting needy cases.
