Da Nang leaders present Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to disadvantaged children

On Tuesday, Da Nang People's Council Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi visited the Orphanage Centre located in Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District under the Da Nang Red Cross Society on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival 2023.

She praised the efforts of the center's staff who dedicatedly cared for, nurtured, and taught the children.

On behalf of the city leaders, Mrs Thi presented gifts and VND10 million in cash to the Orphanage Centre.

Established in 1995, the Orphanage Centre nurtures the abandoned or those in difficult and unfortunate circumstances at birth. It operates for charitable purposes and is responsible for its own funding and means of operation. Currently, the centre is raising 18 children, including 12 boys and 6 girls, from 1 - 11 years old.

Also on the same day, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong visited and gave gifts to children at a charity shelter in Da Nang's Thanh Khe District under the management of the city's Association of Charities and Children's Rights Protection.

On behalf of the city leaders, Mr. Cuong presented the gift and VND10 million to the facility.

He hoped that children will continue to study hard to become good citizens. The charity shelter is taking care of 31 children under 16 years old and 53 students in difficult circumstances in the city and Quang Nam Province.

During his visit to the Hoa Mai Orphanage Centre in Hoa Quy Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee Duong Dinh Lieu wished children there a happy and happy Mid-Autumn Festival.

At the same time, he highly appreciated the efforts of the center's leaders and staff in caring for and nurturing orphans and children in difficult circumstances.

The Hoa Mai Orphan Care Centre is under the management of the city’s Da Nang Association for Supporting the Disabled and Orphaned. It is now home to 38 orphans living in extremely difficult circumstances in the city and from neighbouring province of Quang Nam.
