Da Nang attracts talents in healthcare field

Da Nang’s health sector is implementing a plan to attract talent for public medical facilities. The remuneration levels are based on the municipal People's Council-issued Resolution 95/2022/NQ-HDND dated December 15, 2022 stipulating the policy of attracting doctors to public medical facilities in the 2023-2025 period. The move aims to supplement and fully strengthen the medical workforce at all levels, and improve healthcare quality and efficiency.

Based on operational needs, the Ngu Hanh Son District Medical Center is recruiting 12 officials, including 4 doctors working at the Medical Stations in My An, Khue My, Hoa Quy and Hoa Hai wards.

Doctors have the responsibility to inform, educate, and communicate about health protection, care, and improvement; and manage healthcare activities in the community.

In addition, Ngu Hanh Son District Medical Center is recruiting 8 positions from the unit's self-funded source, working in the departments of Geriatrics, Surgery - Obstetrics, and Inter-specialty Internal Medicine - Pediatrics - Infectious Diseases.

Doctor Nguyen Tien Hung, Deputy Director in charge of Ngu Hanh Son District Medical Center, highlighted the necessity for the addition of medical personnel in enhancing healthcare capacity and service quality, and meeting the needs of the locals.

Similarly, according to the latest statistics, all public medical facilities currently have a need for additional human resources.

Specifically, the Da Nang Traditional Medicine Hospital needs to recruit 6 positions; the Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital 11 positions; the Da Nang Hospital 8 positions; the Thanh Khe District-based Medical Center 12 positions; and the Hoa Vang District-based Medical Center 22 positions.

Adding human resources to the health sector aims to further improve the quality of medical examinations and treatment. In addition, after COVID-19 was controlled, a large number of medical staff in the healthcare sector left their jobs.

According to Mr. Vo Ngoc Dong, Director of the municipal Department of Home Affairs, to ensure human resources for the health sector in the current context, the department has just approved a plan to recruit 142 doctors.

Accordingly, the recruitment of doctors will come with attractive and remunerative policies. Specifically, doctors with a doctorate degree are entitled to 200 times higher than the base salary; doctors with degree as Specialist Level 2 will receive 180 times higher than the base salary; and resident doctors’ pay will be 150 times higher than the base salary.

Those with master's degrees and first-grade specialists will get a pay level that is 120 times higher than the base salary and good general practitioners’ pay is 100 times higher than the base salary.

Doctor Tran Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director in charge of the municipal Department of Health, said that the recruitees according to the city’s policy of attracting talents will be arranged according to their specialised training. They will be facilitated to work in a favourable working environment to promote capacity and work strengths; as well as be considered for planning, appointment to leadership and management positions. They also enjoy full salary, insurance, salary increases and other regimes and policies according to current State regulations.

However, doctor applicants must commit to long-term work at public medical facilities in Da Nang for 5 years or more. During this time, doctors must comply with job assignments according to regulations. Those who breach the contract must reimburse support costs.
