According to the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, central coastal localities from Quang Tri to Da Nang will likely experience moderate to heavy rain with the total rainfall amount expected to 30-100mm/day from this evening.

In particular, provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai are predicted to have scattered to moderate showers, with common rainfalls of 20-40 mm, and more than 70mm in some places.

Rain amounts on October 23 and 24 in coastal localities from Quang Binh to Quang Nam are forecast to generally average between 50 and 100 mm per day with over 200mm possible in some places

Thunderstorms can produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds in the warning areas, regional forecasters warn.

The intensity of rainfall will increase the risk of flooding in low-lying areas and urban areas, and flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas.
