The event was co-organised by the Center for Natural Resources and Environment Communication under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

Its aim was to promote the dissemination of environmental policies and laws; improve skills and expertise for professional staff in the natural resources and environment sector; and expand the natural resources and environment communication network so that individuals participating in propaganda work have a deep understanding about the Law on Environmental Protection 2020.

A representative of the Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and Environment said that, the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 has been widely communicated in the city through the organisation of many events and activities in localities, and at associations and unions, and through information channels in newspapers and radio.

Specifically, there have been more than 500 propaganda articles, and reports; 333 festivals and training sessions held with more than 31,780 participants; and over 15,500 copies of propaganda publications.

Local people have actively got involved in participating in the 'Green - Clean - Beautiful Sunday' movement; planting and caring for trees; checking and fixing motorbike emissions to ensure that motorbike use meets emission concentration standards; beach cleaning; waste classification at source; combating plastic waste; and limiting the use of single-use plastic products.

The municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment proposes the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and its agencies continue to host and organise in-depth exchange and training courses on the issuance of environmental licenses, and technical regulations in developing environmental management plans.

Heed will be on soon organising guidance and transfer of information systems and environmental databases at the ministerial level, as well as connecting and sharing them with localities.

It is high time for related agencies to soon issue socialisation policies, aiming to encourage economic sectors and individuals to invest in environmental protection activities, especially in recycling and reuse of waste; as well as to review and evaluate the role, organisation and operation of the Environmental Protection Fund in centrally-governed cities and provinces.
