He is Nguyen Van Quynh, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell and head of the Thuan Lap B4 Residential Area Chapter of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee.

Having engaged in social activities of a local chapter of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee for over 10 years, Mr. Quynh could understand the problems and circumstances of all families living in his residential area.

Despite being located in the inner city, the Thuan Lap B4 Residential Area was home to many poor households in the past.

Till date, local residents' living conditions have significantly improved, and there are now no poor households in this residential area. This positive result has been attributed to great efforts of the local Party cell and local chapter of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee.

"My residential area has now no poor households. However, despite my old age, I am active in monitoring the construction of public facilities in a bid to ensure construction quality in these projects, as well as bring the best benefits to local residenrts," remarked Mr. Nguyen Van Quynh.

On the Lunar New Year 2023, over VND 8 million was raised to give valuable gifts to those in need, including seniors and sick persons. In addition, monthly allowance worth VND 500,000 is currently granted to two eligible persons.

Passionate about promoting education and talent development, Mr. Quynh goes door to door around his residential area to explore the evidence of good academic achievements of local pupils at the end of their each school year.

In the 2023–2024 school year, he gave 31 gifts totaling VND 4.5 million to encourage and motivate local children to be diligent and excel in their studies.

"So far this year, we has worked with local social associations and organizations to honour students who gained good academic achievements, along with poor studious students who need more of our attention and encouragement," Mr. Quynh shared.

Thanks to effective communication with local residents, Mr. Nguyen Van Quynh is always successful in engaging local residents in local social movements, including the “All people protect national security” movement, the "Vietnamese people giving priority to using Vietnamese products" campaign, and the 'Green, Clean, and Beautiful Sunday' campaign. Twice a month, Mr. Quynh joins forces with staff of local social organizations to encourage local residents to engage in environmental cleanups. Even on rainy days, local residents get together to clean the drains to reduce flood risk in their residential area.

Prior to retiring, Mr. Quynh worked in the transportation sector, which provided him with a strong foundation in civil works, particularly regarding drainage systems and the concrete paving of local alleys.

As a testament to his commitment when taking his current position as Deputy Chief of the Ward's Inspection Committee, Mr. Quynh gets up at 5 a.m. to inspect local construction sites, scrutinizing every detail to ensure construction quality in these projects.

Mr. Le Nguyen Anh, the Chairman of Thach Thang Ward Chapter of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee praisedMr. Quynh as a pivotal figure and passionate participant in local social activities. Besides, his recommendations and innovative solutions have significantly contributed to significant improvement of local residents’ living standards. Moreover, his persuasive and down-to-earth style has helped him receive active support from locals.

Mr. Quynh has been honoured with certificates of merit from the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland, the municipal government and district and ward-level authorities in recognition of his dedication to the community.
