In their efforts to demonstrate the nation's morality of “Loving others as you love yourself” and "The intact leaves protect tattered ones", many social organizations and associations, philanthropists across Da Nang, have been active in giving back in practical ways through charitable activities in a bid to help those in need.

Initiated by Teacher Truong Vinh Dang in the Tay Ho Primary School four years ago, the charity programme aims to feed poor labourers.

A charity vegan kitchen based in Son Tra District is a typical example. Initiated in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic by the Tho An 3 Women's Organisation in Tho Quang Ward, the charity vegan kitchen has opened to feed those in need on the 1st and 15th days of the lunar month.

The kitchen initially provided a few hundred meals for the poor every time. Then, the number of offered meals gradually increased to between 1,000 and 1,500 in order to meet growing demand of those in need.

The charity kitchen mainly offers free food to single seniors, low income earners and people in difficult circumstances in the locality. Furthermore, the kitchen also provides 1,400 free meals to patients and their family caregivers at the Da Nang Oncology Hospital twice a month in an effort to show compassion and love to poor patients.

The kitchen’s members voluntarily contribute a portion of their monthly salaries to finance its operations. In addition, they also call for financial support from their relatives and friends in an attempt to continue sharing with those in need.

A charity store run by the Loc Phuoc 2 Women's organization under the motto “"Each member - a beautiful gesture, each organization - a meaningful action" is another charitable effort in Tho Quang ward to help the poor.

Money raised from selling recyclables has gone to support the operation of this charity store. In addition, second-hand donations of clothing and household goods have been given to the store by local philanthropists.

The store opens every Sunday morning. Visiting the charity store allows poor people to choose and buy essential items on store shelves for zero dong.

Teachers and pupils of the Tay Ho Primary School located in Hai Chau District have offered "Free Meals" once a month to those in need over the past four years.

Initiated by teacher Truong Vinh Dang in the Tay Ho Primary School four years ago, the charity programme aims to offer around 200 free meals for poor labourers, including motorbike taxi drivers, lottery street vendors, scrap collectors, every weekend.

This programme has to date attracted the participation of a number of staff members in this school. This charity activity has been registered as part of the school’s movements in response to the nationwide campaign to promote the study and following of President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and lifestyle.

This programme is funded by donations from the school’s teaching staff and parents of the school’s pupils.

Meanwhile, the Hoa Phu 2 Women's organistion has opened a "Love Stall" at 164 Nguyen Chanh Alley located in Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District for a few months.

A small stall with the eye-catching red sign "Love Stall" was set up on a vacant land in the locality. It opens on Saturdays and Sundays. This is a place where poor people can choose and get used clothing, shoes, and caps free of charge, as well as kind-hearted people can give their second-hand donations.
