Voluntary blood donations are an invaluable source of life for those suffering from serious illnesses and individuals in need of emergency blood transfusions. Through the voluntary blood donation movement, the city's police force has witnessed the emergence of exemplary figures, among them is Lieutenant Truong Dinh Viet, born in 1987, an officer in the Supply Division, who has voluntarily donated blood 32 times.

Over the course of 13 years, Lieutenant Truong Dinh Viet has actively participated in voluntary blood donation, contributing a total of 32 times. His donations include 25 instances of platelet donations and 7 instances of whole blood donations, often responding to emergency calls during late-night hours. Lieutenant Viet, belonging to the AB+ blood group, recognizes the importance of his rare blood type and is always ready to support critical cases requiring immediate blood transfusions.

Reflecting on his first donation experience during his military service, Lieutenant Viet, initially nervous, found himself drawn to the noble act. Since then, he has consistently participated in voluntary blood donation drives organized by the city's Youth Union and Red Cross Society, never missing an opportunity to contribute.

In addition to his direct blood donations, Lieutenant Viet actively encourages fellow unit members, youth, and even family members to participate in voluntary blood donation drives. Embracing the spirit of "a drop of blood given, a life preserved," he also engages with "Live to Love" Blood Club of the city's Red Cross Association, ensuring timely blood supply for patients in need of life-saving transfusions.

At a time when the pandemic is still complicated, I always remind everyone to be cautious, follow doctors' instructions to ensure effective pandemic prevention, and actively participate in life-saving blood donations. I believe that donating blood to save lives, especially during the COVID-19 crisis, is a command from the heart. I will always remember a blood donation session on National Day," shared Lieutenant Truong Dinh Viet.

Recognized as a shining example in the voluntary blood donation movement, Lieutenant Truong Dinh Viet has received commendations, including the "Meaningful Youth Award 2023" from the Da Nang Youth Union and two certificates of Commendation from the Da Nang People's Committee in 2019 and 2021. The Health Department of the Ministry of Public Security also awarded him a Certificate of Commendation for achieving over 20 voluntary blood donations.

Lieutenant Colonel Ho Dinh Tri, Secretary of the Youth Union of the City Police, remarked, "The voluntary blood donation movement is one of the outstanding activities of the city's youth police force, attracting a large number of young people to participate. Among them, Lieutenant Truong Dinh Viet stands out, spreading love, fostering a sense of responsibility, and contributing to the positive image of the police force serving the community.
