Spreading positivity on social media

In their views of embracing the good in order to remove the ugliness from social media, socio-political organizations in Da Nang are active in sharing meaningful stories, good deeds, and acts of kindness on social media platforms in a bid to inspire more people to follow these shining examples, thereby raising cybersecurity awareness among local residents, as well as contributing to developing Da Nang into a civilized city.

In recent times, the item ‘ Good news every day - a good story every week ‘ that appeared on the website of the Youth Union organization of Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, have captured the attention of local youth union members and young people.

According to Mr. Nguyen Nho Hoai, the Secretary of the Hoa Hai Ward Youth Union organization, the creation of this item on the organization’s website aims to inculcate moral values among young people, as well as encourage them towards healthy lifestyles through sharing stories of good deeds, and shining examples. Hundreds of good news and meaningful stories have till date been shared through the organization’s website, contributing to bringing values of life in young people, inspiring them to perform good deeds or actions to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Mr. Hoai shared, “Nowadays, social media are a part of the young generation’s life, so they can get multifaceted information from various sources. Negative messages spread rapidly and widely on social media which can harm young people's behaviors and attitudes. Therefore, the ward’s Youth Union Organization has focused on raising awareness of youth union officials and members towards the safe use of the internet for all, especially for children and young people.”  

Mr. Le Xuan Thanh, the Secretary of Ngu Hanh Son District’s Youth Union organization said that Youth Union organizations of the district and its 4 wards have created a link between websites and social networking sites of them and other districts of the city . At the same time, the District’s Youth Union organization also encourages its officials and members, along with young people to use their personal Facebook account to follow and connect with the official social networking sites of Youth Union organizations of the district and its wards.

Under the motto ‘The more people know, the more people share’, youth union officials and members, along with young people in Ngu Hanh Son District can share good news, inspiring and positive articles through social media, making social media a more positive environment. In addition, importance is attached to sharing positive information about the Party's guidelines, national policies and laws, plus historical events in order to educate patriotism and national pride for young people, thereby making a positive impact in society, and contributing to creating a positive social media environment that will inspire young people, including youth union members.

A project themed ‘Spreading positive information, fighting against hostile and false news on social networking in Da Nang until 2025, with a vision to 2030' has been deployed in Hai Chau District in a diverse and rich manner .

Over the past five years, nearly 3,000 news, photos, and events have been posted on such Facebook pages as ‘Hai Chau 1 Propaganda Today’, ‘Hai Chau 1 Ward  Chapter of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee’, ‘Hai Chau 1 Women’,  and ‘Hai Chau 1 Youth’ along with Zalo groups of social organizations and residential areas.

The effective implementation of the above-mentioned project in Hai Chau District contributes to spreading positivity, as well as fighting against hostile and false news on social media.
