15,200 shopping vouchers given to disadvantaged workers
The Tet Market 2024 for Trade Union members was officially opened at the Da Nang Labour Cultural House on Thursday evening.

The event was jointly organised by the Trade Union of High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks, the chapters of the Confederation of Labor in Hai Chau and Cam Le districts, and the Labour Cultural House.
This year’s market features nearly 70 stalls selling essential items at preferential prices to serve trade union members and workers. Also, there are entertainment stalls with prizes, food and drinks stalls, and free hair cutting services.
At the opening ceremony of the market, 16,030 gifts, totalling VND4.7 billion, were presented to trade union members and workers in particularly difficult circumstances. Additionally, 15,200 free shopping vouchers, worth VND1.5 billion in total, were given to needy people.
The market runs until January 14.

In the coming time, the organisers will give away 1,600 free bus and train tickets to poor trade union members and workers to help them return home to celebrate Tet; visit and present gifts to disadvantaged workers at the boarding houses; give 1,000 ‘banh chung’ (square glutinous rice cake) to those in need; organise a lucky draw programme with gifts worth more than VND30 million; and provide free medical check-ups and treatment for 30,000 industrial park workers and trade union members, workers in Hai Chau and Cam Le districts.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the market, Chairman of the Trade Union of the Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks Nguyen Thanh Trung highlighted that the market and the forthcoming practical activities of trade union organisations at all levels across the city will contribute to partly sharing difficulties with poor workers during the upcoming Tet Festival 2024.
