Accordingly, the city arranged apartment rentals and gave Tet gifts, worth VND1million each, to 44 poor families. These are households with people with severe or especially severe disabilities, people with serious illnesses, and single parents.

These families have yet to have housing ownership or land use rights in the city, be allowed to buy or rent social housing, and enjoy housing and land support policies of any kind in the city.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Le Trung Chinh emphasised that, over the past time, the city has effectively implemented the ‘5 No's, 3 Yes's' and 'City of 4 Safe' programmes to ensure social welfare work.

The arrangement of apartment rentals for poor households in extremely difficult circumstances was the great effort of authorities at all levels, aiming at facilitating poor households to settle down and reduce difficulties in life.

Chairman Chinh also asked the municipal Department of Construction to direct the Housing Management and Operation Centre to urgently implement apartment handover procedures, creating favorable conditions for households to receive their houses before Tet 2014.
