"Coast Guards Accompany Fishermen" programme 2024 launched

The Da Nang Party Committee's Mass Mobilisation Board coordinated with the High Command of the Coast Guard Region 2 to launch the mass mobilisation coordination programme "Coast Guards Accompany Fishermen" in 2024 on Friday.

The Da Nang Party Committee's Mass Mobilisation Board signed with the High Command of the Coast Guard Region 2 to carry out the mass mobilisation coordination programme "Coast Guards Accompany Fishermen" in 2024 on Friday.

Accordingly, in 2024, the two units will promote education and publicity activities about on the country’s sovereignty over its sea and islands. The purpose is to propagate fishermen not to exploit seafood in foreign waters and use destructive fishing methods, as well as continue to organise the contest "I love my homeland’s sea and islands " for junior high school pupils.

At the same time, the focus will be on launching patriotic emulation movements and the "Smart People's Mobilisation" emulation movement, as well as effectively implementing the "Coastal Guards with ethnic and religious people" mass mobilisation programme.

As reported at the event, in 2023, the municipal Party Committee's Mass Mobilisation Board and the High Command of the Coast Guard Region 2 effectively carried out the coordination programme, thereby contributing to driving the city’s socio-economic development and protecting the national sovereignty over  its sea and islands.

Aside from the successful organisation of the contest "I love my homeland’s sea and islands" for junior high school pupils in 2023, the two units gave 50 scholarships and 20 bicycles to poor studious pupils in Thanh Khe District, and presented 370 gifts, worth VND1 million each, to social policy families, ethnic fishing households, and religious followers difficult circumstances.

Speaking at the event, Head of the municipal Party Committee's Mass Mobilisation Board Le Van Trung highly appreciated the effectiveness of the mass mobilisation coordination program.

He voiced his hope that many practical activities will be organised in the city to ensure social welfare, and raise people's awareness about fighting and protecting the country’s sovereignty over sea and islands.
