Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday 2024 is approaching. At this time, Trade Union organisations at all levels and businesses across Da Nang are making efforts to bring a full and warm Tet to their members and workers after a year of hard work.

More conditions to take care of Tet

In the last months of the lunar year, production and business activities at a number of enterprises involving seafood, packaging, garment industries and others became bustling again because of the increased number of orders.

For instance, in the last three months of 2023, the Da Nang Friendship Production and Trading JSC witnessed a 12% increase in the number of orders. To meet production needs during Tet, the company recruited 400 additional workers.

Mr. Mai Xuan Tu, the Director of the Huu Nghi Da Nang Company, said that due to the increased numbers of orders, the company's revenue and profits significantly improved. Thanks to that, the company has more conditions to better implement social welfare policies, salaries and full 2024 Tet bonuses for its employees.

In a similar vein , the Asia Architecture and Trading Co., Ltd. recruited 20% more staff to meet production requirements because the number of orders increased again.

According to the company representative, thanks to stable production and business activities, the company has many advantages to provide better care for employees to enjoy Tet.

In addition to salary payments, the company is expected to give workers Tet bonuses being a month's worth of a basic salary, equal to VND10.5 million/person. At the same time, gift vouchers, worth VND15,000 - 30,000/day, will be given to workers who perform well in occupational safety and hygiene.

Meanwhile, the Hoa Tho Textile and Garment Joint Stock Corporation currently has more than 11,700 employees nationwide, including nearly 4,000 in Da Nang, with an average income of nearly VND10 million/person/month.

In 2023, despite facing many difficulties, the corporation made efforts and achieved very positive production and business results. On that basis, to bring a full and warm Tet to employees, the company will reward the 13^th month salary equivalent to 1.5 months’ average annual salary and year-end party money for employees. In addition, employees who will present on the first day back to work after Tet break will receive VND200,000/person.

​Gratitude towards workers

Meanwhile, some enterprises in the city still encountered difficulties during the year. However, they still ensure Tet bonuses for their employees in a bid to show gratitude to those have made many efforts and accompanied the business after a year.

In 2023, the Da Nang Rubber Joint Stock Company (DRC) fulfilled about 90% of the production plan. However, it still committed that the Tet bonus for 2,000 employees will not be lower than the previous year.

“With the New Year, each worker will receive an equal bonus. The Tet bonus will be more than 3 months' salary" DRC General Director Le Hoang Khanh Nhut said.

Similarly, due to the impact of the economic recession, the 2023 production and business results of the Foster Da Nang Electronics Co., Ltd. were not as expected. However, to show its gratitude to employees, the company still ensures Tet bonuses for nearly 900 people like last year.

According to Chairman of the Trade Union organisation of the Foster Electronics Da Nang Co., Ltd. Bui Minh Vu, during the Lunar New Year 202, each worker will receive a 13^th month salary, performance bonus of 0.53% of the basic monthly salary, and an additional bonus of 0.3% of basic monthly salary. In addition, the company will organise a year-end party at the price of VND350,000/person, and Tet gifts, worth VND440,000 each.

The Morito Da Nang Co., Ltd. also ensures that Tet bonuses for workers for Tet 2024 will not be lower than 2023. In particular, the company will give Tet bonuses to 820 people, including 13^th month salary, rating bonus and seniority bonus.

Additionally, the company will organise a lucky draw gala, with a total budget of more than VND50 million.

Moreover, the grassroots Trade Union organisations will give Tet gifts, valued at VND400,000 each, to all union members and workers, as well as provide free bus tickets for 84 workers in order to help them return to home to celebrate Tet, Mr. Hoang Xuan Nhat, Chairman of the Trade Union organisation of the Morito Da Nang Co., Ltd informed.

In order to ensure the rights of employees regarding wages and Tet bonuses, on November 6, 2023, the municipal Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs issued a document requesting employers in the city to proactively review labour contracts, collective labor agreements and employer's rules and regulations to implement salary, bonus and welfare regimes for employees.
