In 2023 alone, the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations (DAFO) hosted a total of 40 meaningful and widespread international activities and events, significantly contributing to promoting cooperative activities in many fields between Da Nang and other countries worldwide.

Cultural diplomacy, foreign affairs information, and overseas Vietnamese work increasingly played a role in introducing and promoting the image of Da Nang to international friends.

Foreign non-governmental organisations provided Da Nang with over VND473 million in aid last year, effectively contributing to the city's social welfare work.

The information was released by DAFO at the Tuesday meeting to review its performance in 2023 and set out new tasks for 2024.

In 2024, DAFO will continue to well implement the spirit of the 13^th Party Congress on building a comprehensive and modern diplomacy with three pillars: Party diplomacy, State diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy.

On the occasion, 11 collectives and 8 individuals were presented with Certificates of Merit from Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Le Trung Chinh in recognition of their active involvement in people-to-people diplomacy activities in 2023.

Also on the same day, DAFO signed a cooperation agreement with the Vietnam Television Centre in the Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands regions (VTV8) on carrying out people-to-people diplomacy activities in the city during the 2024 – 2026 period.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Ho Ky Minh requested DAFO to coordinate closely with VTV8 to well implement the 4 groups of fields that the two sides agreed to coordinate. This will contribute to strengthening communication and promoting people-to-people diplomacy activities and events in the city, thereby creating a widespread and positive effect among people nationwide and international friends.
