Developing modern, sustainable architecture in Da Nang
The Da Nang government has issued a plan to orient the architectural development of the city.
Accordingly, the requirement for urban area architecture is to develop architecture but still ensure its identity in harmony with natural, economic, cultural, social, environmental, and scientific and technical conditions.
The focus will be on ensuring consistency in management from overall to specific space of architectural works, and the harmonious combination between past and present.
Heed will be on having reasonable forecasts in the future in order to prevent natural disasters, epidemics and climate change.
As for architecture in rural areas, community participation should be emphasised, concentrating on focus on protecting natural architectural heritage, adding missing functions, combining infrastructure modernization, and preserving and promoting traditional cultural values and customs.
The plan sets out requirements for promoting the value of national cultural identity on the basis of preserving architectural heritage and the core values that create national cultural identity in traditional Vietnamese architecture.
The main task of the plan is to implement preferential policies for preserving and promoting national cultural identity in architecture and protecting valuable architectural works.
Importance will be attached to developing a theoretical system of architectural criticism that combines theory with practice and values of national identity and indigenousness in architecture, promoting social criticism through architectural criticism.
The city will also prioritise boosting digital transformation in architecture, as well as mobilising domestic and foreign organisations and individuals to invest in architectural development and improve design quality.
