The Da Nang International Airport has recently opened six breastfeeding rooms at convenient, recognizable and accessible locations, becoming the first airport in Viet Nam to implement this initiative.

Supported by the Embassy of Ireland in Viet Nam, FHI 360’s Alive & Thrive and Rotary Da Nang, the newly-established rooms provide a safe and tranquil environment for mothers to breastfeed their babies or to express breast milk.

In the shape of a cradle, the rooms are strategically positioned near washing facilities yet distanced from lavatories, have soundproofed walls and have comfortable chairs.

These rooms are also equipped with necessary equipment such as fans, bells, antiseptic solutions.

The operation of the rooms shows the Da Nang airport’s efforts to enhance the experience of domestic and foreign passengers, aiming to become a more mother- and child-friendly airport.
