Effectively utilizing information technology platforms

Developed by Binh Thuan Ward’s Youth Union organization, the ‘Free online classified ads and recruitment information posting site’ model aims to provide an online platform where users can post classified ads or search for job information free of charge.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh Hang, the Secretary of Binh Thuan Ward’s Youth Union organization, said that highlights of this model are the effective use of information technology platform, and securing QR code integration in a bid to allow users to post classified ads and recruitment information free of charge. All these information will be approved by the web team, and then be posted on the Binh Thuan Youth’s Facebook fanpage, thereby creating a free online platform to help users find it easy to access job opportunities.

The Binh Thuan Ward’s Youth Union organization has created the user-friendly website that looks professional and is easy for anyone who visits its website to navigate — including those with little skills in information technology. The highlight of this website is usability, which essentially means it is simple to use and gets the visitor to the right information as effortlessly as possible. Furthermore, the important feature of the website is to ensure the safety for users, as the website takes effective measures to protect its users from fake or fraudulent information. The website also helps connect recruiters with job seekers.

The model not only helps solve unemployment problems but also creates favorable conditions for users to exchange commercial information, thereby contributing to an improved quality of life and local economy development.

Diverse approaches

According to the assessment of Mr. Le Cong Hung, the Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Youth Union, all 45 entries for the 2024 contest to encourage youth volunteers to contribute to the community have met the requirements and goals set by the contest’s organizer. Apart from the first-awarded model, other entries included ‘Love Broadcast Station’ which aims to create happy classrooms to engage all students in learning, ‘Connect Volunteer’ app and website which aims to connect people to community through volunteering, ‘Reuse – Refilling’, ‘digitizing red addresses’, ‘Capturing the harmful particulates that come away from tires by using an electrostatic method. All entries showed the creativity and enthusiasm of young people in solving social problems, as well as contributing to building a sustainable community.

“All entries revolved around such problems as environmental protection and response to climate change, building new-styled rural areas, building civilized urban areas, traffic safety, security, and digital transformation in volunteer activities. The ‘Connect Volunteer application and website’ model is a typical example. It is designed to connect volunteers with suitable volunteer opportunities and projects. Users can use this app or visit this website to register to participate in volunteer activities in a bid to create a mutual support network, thereby strengthening the values and spirit of volunteerism in the community," Mr. Hung said.

Highlights of the contest are positive results gained from many models of Youth Union organizations.

Hai Chau 1 Ward’s Youth Union organization Secretary Bui Thi Ngoc Anh, the Founder of the "Reuse - Refill" program, said that this program is implemented every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month at the Han Market.

Accordingly, 2-3 youth union members will be available at the Han Market on these days to set up a store in order to sell such products as laundry detergent, fabric softener, dishwashing liquid, and floor cleaner. Buyers can bring their own bottles, jars and boxes to put their purchases into these containers. The intention is to raise public awareness about garbage classification and recycling in an attempt to encourage them to reuse glass and plastic bottles instead of just using them once and then throwing them away. In addition, the Ward Youth Union organization focusses on encouraging local residents to exchange recyclables found at home for their consumer products or accumulated points for their future purchases. Since its launch, the program has conducted the exchange of recyclables with more than 500 consumer products for nearly 6,000 local people.

By participating in volunteer projects, Da Nang youth can work together to improve the quality of their personal and community life. Moreover, through the contest, a number of excellent and highly applicable ideas will be replicated in the upcoming 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer campaign by the Da Nang Youth Union.
