Towards best care for patients

"Satisfaction, cleanliness, modernity" are the common impressions of patients and their relatives regarding facilities at the Da Nang Hospital, especially at the new Organ Transplant and Stem Cell Transplant Centre and the Neurosurgery, Trauma, and Reconstructive Burn Surgery Centre.

As shared by Mr Van N.Ph., born in 1985, An Hai Dong Ward, Son Tra District, who is being treated at the Thoracic Surgery Department of the Organ Transplant and Stem Cell Transplant Centre, after an ultrasound and biopsy test at the Da Nang Hospital on May 13, he was admitted for surgery. He was satisfied with the hospital’s healthcare services from the examination to the hospitalization. He said the hospital's facilities have been significantly upgraded compared to before.

The two aforementioned specialized medical centres began operating on February 27, 2024.

Specifically, work started on the Organ Transplant and Stem Cell Transplant Centre in February 2020. The VND 495.7 billion centre features two basement floors, 11 above-ground floors, and a technical floor. It has a usable floor area of 19,995 square meters and approximately 422 hospital beds.

Meanwhile, the construction of the Neurosurgery, Trauma, and Reconstructive Burn Surgery Centre started in October 2019 with a total investment of VND 471.8 billion. It also includes two basement floors, 11 above-ground floors, and a technical floor, with a usable floor area of 23,402 square meters and approximately 407 hospital beds.

According to Dr. Le Duc Nhan, Director of the Da Nang Hospital, the Organ Transplant and Stem Cell Transplant Centre features a modern operating room system along with organ and stem cell transplant areas, with internationally standardized equipment. Since these centres started operating over two months ago, they have met the increasing healthcare and treatment demands of the people, contributing to reaffirming the position of the Da Nang Hospital as a specialized medical centre in the city and the Central and Central Highlands regions.

Mrs. Luong Thuy Quynh, Principal of the Binh Minh Kindergarten, shared that the school was newly invested with nearly VND 30 billion, featuring 12 class groups and 5 functional rooms including a multi-purpose room, physical education room, music room, skills room, and a STEM education room. This investment aims to develop the children's thinking, intelligence, and physical health. The school also focuses on greening the campus so children can breathe fresh air and play in a spacious, airy environment.

Earlier this year, the newly rebuilt Hoang Van Thu Primary School based in Hai Chau 1 Ward, Hai Chau District, also opened with an investment of over VND 30 billion. The classrooms, functional rooms, and subject rooms were built in a multi-functional block and equipped with modern facilities meeting national school standards with 25 classrooms.

According to Mr. Truong Thanh Dung, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hai Chau District People’s Committee, the investment, construction, renovation, and use of new schools have greatly met the needs of the district’s residents, contributing to the development of Hai Chau’s education sector and supporting the implementation of the new general education programme. This development aims to elevate Da Nang’s education sector to match its central role in the central region, reaffirming education as its top priority and national policy.

To meet teaching and learning demands and improve local education quality, on July 10, 2020, the city approved the plan for building, upgrading, and expanding schools for the 2021-2025 period. Accordingly, the city plans to build a network of 452 educational units and schools with approximately 339,315 pupils by the 2025-2026 academic year. The total investment for the 2021-2025 period is set about VND 4,399 billion.
