Tourist boats banned from docking at Han River Port during DIFF 2024
The Da Nang People's Committee has recently agreed to adjust a number of inland waterway passenger transport business activities while the Song Han (Han River) Port is temporarily closed to serve as a shooting ground for the forthcoming Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2024.
During the DIFF 2024, a fleet of more than 20 cruise ships will be relocated from the Han River Port to the Song Thu Corporation’s port west of the Tran Thi Ly Bridge. |
Accordingly, a fleet of more than 20 cruise ships will dock at the Song Thu Corporation’s port west of the Tran Thi Ly Bridge during the DIFF instead of the Han River Port.
Previously, according to the proposal of the municipal Department of Transport, the inland waterway wharf under the Song Thu Corporation on the western side of the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge will be put into operation.
The Da Nang authorities have assigned the Department of Transport and the Hai Chau District People's Committee to guide the Song Thu Corporation to complete necessary dossiers and submit them to the district’s authorities to consider and declare eligibility for the operation of the inland waterway wharf.
The municipal People's Committee has also requested the Song Thu Corporation to supplement and complete technical infrastructure, relocate the existing wharves, and clear the ground and channels to ensure the safety of boats when entering/ exiting the wharf.
It is known that the ground level of the Song Han Port is handed over to relevant agencies to serve DIFF 2024 from May 22 - July 22.
The Song Thu Corporation's inland waterway wharf in the area of the National Center for Oil Spill Response in the Central Region, on the western side of the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge, will be served as an anchor for tourist boats to pick up/ drop off passengers on the Han River during the DIFF 2024.
It is expected that all cruise ships will return to the Han River Port to pick up and drop off passengers as before starting from July 25.
During this period, the Border Guard Command and the local police force strictly control passenger transportation activities; strengthen patrols; and arrange officers and soldiers on cruise ships to support security, order and traffic safety.
Fire prevention and fighting forces are asked to ensure fire safety at the wharf of the National Center for Oil Spill Response in the Central Region.
