As part of the Da Nang Youth Union-organised Green Summer campaign 2024, a large number of Youth Union members and young people citywide got actively involved in scooping water hyacinths and clearing drainage in Bau Tre Lake, Truoc Dong Village, Hoa Nhon Commune, Hoa Vang District, on Sunday.

The city's youth wear life jackets and soak their body in the water to scoop up water hyacinths at the Bau Tre Lake.

The city's youth were equipped with life jackets, grass rakes, small boats, and ropes to clear the Bau Tre Lake off water hyacinth.

Through the activity, the city's youth showed their efforts in joining hands with local authorities to resolve polluted spots, contributing to protecting a green, clean, and beautiful landscape in the city.

Despite heavy rain on the afternoon of June 23, youth union members and young people still tried to collect water hyacinths.

According to local people, the Bau Tre Lake was formed a long time ago. Due to floods, water stagnates here and a lot of water hyacinth grows. People want to treat duckweed to clear the water flow and serve irrigation, but they do not have the conditions. Therefore, the activities of the city's youth received active support from many people.

According to the municipal Youth Union, the water hyacinth removal is expected to be done by June 26.
