Da Nang youth join hands to serve community
The Youth Union organisation of Hai Chau District, the city’s Youth Activity Center, the Youth Union organisation of the Da Nang Government Department and Agency Bloc, the Department of Public Security’s Youth Board, and the Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy jointly held a ceremony in the city on Saturday to launch the 2024 summer youth volunteer campaign.

The campaign features four main programmes of giving strength to candidates at the university entrance exam, digital transformation, science and technology transference and international volunteer activities in Laos, along with four campaigns called green summer, red poinciana, pink holiday, and green march.
The abovementioned activities aim to promote the proactive and volunteer spirit of the city's youth in promoting the local socio-economic development, building new-style rural areas and urban civilisation, and ensuring social security and national defense, especially in remote areas, borders and islands.
At the launching ceremony, the five organising units donated 13 youth projects, totalling more than VND1.5 billion. These projects focus on giving a helping hand to five disadvantaged students in Hai Chau District; building two play areas for children; donating five bookcases for children and 13 studying corners for students; supporting the repair and construction of two houses for social policy families; installing two lighting systems in Hoa Vang District; constructing a water supply work for people's lives; and providing free medical examinations for 5,000 poor people.
The summer youth volunteer campaign is held every year and is welcomed by a large number of youth union officials and members across the city. This is a peak opportunity for the city's youth to show their pioneering, creative, and enthusiastic spirit in projects and work for the community, thereby contributing to building the homeland and protecting the country.
