New centre of Da Nang

Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Ho Ky Minh emphasised that Hoa Vang District is determined to be the new centre of Da Nang with a service and high-tech centre in the northwest area of ​​the city, and commercial and service centre attached to the new railway station.

At the ongoing seventh sitting of the15^th National Assembly on June 26, legislators voted to adopt the resolutions on piloting some specially-designed mechanisms and policies to develop Da Nang, including piloting the construction of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone which will be located in Hoa Vang District.

The district boasts many advantages in attracting investment in large-scale projects, thereby creating a strong push for breakthrough development.

Vice Chairman Minh took the opportunity to ask the Party Committee and authorities of Hoa Vang District to continue to make efforts to further promote the effectiveness of State management decentralisation in planning, investment, and construction to speed up the implementation of key projects, as well as closely coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to support investors and businesses in the process of research and investment implementation.

The district should prioritise boosting the administrative reform, and creating an open and transparent administrative mechanism, in an attempt to improve its investment and business environment, and facilitate enterprises to invest and expand production and business activities, he added.

The city leader urged businesses and investors to proactively and actively accompany the district and the city to ensure the on-schedule progress of projects, as well as select suitable locations for investment.

Development of international-scale tourism complexes needed

Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, Chairman of Sun Group in Central Viet Nam, said that in recent years, Hoa Vang District has taken advantage of its strengths in geographical position, landscape, long history and culture to develop eco-tourism, along with a number of famous tourist destinations such as Sun World Ba Na Hills tourist area, Ba Na Hills Golf Club, Than Tai Hot Springs Park, and Phuoc Son hot mineral water bathing area, significantly contributing to making tourism one of the district’s spearhead economic sectors.

He stressed the need for the district and municipal authorities to develop a roadmap to promote the early implementation of projects as planned, especially key projects of great significance to the city, in order to turn Hoa Vang into a modern and ecological urban and tourism area.

Also, Hoa Vang tourism needs to be designed to develop according to international-scale population models, to promote the values ​​of local cultural identity and natural resources, he emphasised.

Calling for investment in many large projects

Also at the meeting, authorities in Hoa Vang District announced a number of projects and land areas that are calling for investment.

In particular, the district is calls for investment by bidding method for projects using land in the planning area with an area of ​​about 163 in the urban subdivision of the district in order to synchronously connect the technical and social infrastructure systems in the locality.

The Hoa Vang District People's Committee is coordinating with the municipal Department of Industry and Trade and related units to continue selecting investors to implement the 24.75ha Hoa Nhon Industrial Cluster project in Hoa Nhon Commune with a total investment of about VND286 billion; and calling for investment in the 30.92ha Hoa Phuoc Wholesale Market project.

The over 400ha Hoa Ninh Industrial Park project based in Hoa Ninh Commune is calling for synchronous investment in technical infrastructure to form a clean industrial park with modern and advanced technology.

Investment appeal is make for the Hoa Nhon dry port and logistics centre in the namesake commune with a project area of ​​about 20ha by 2030 with a scale of 60,000 - 150,000 Teus/year.

The district also calls for investment in three high-tech agricultural areas, including Hoa Khuong clean vegetable growing area (more than 28.8 ha); the Hoa Phu clean vegetable growing area (more than 20.9 ha); and production area for safe agricultural products applying high technology in Hoa Khuong and Hoa Phong (more than 16.2 ha).

Currently in Hoa Vang district, there are 74 large plots of land with a total area of ​​43.8 ha, including 38 plots of commercial and service land, 2 plots of mixed land, 6 plots of land divided into garden houses, 9 plots of land for production and business, and 5 plots of land for education.
