The concept of a "green lifestyle" has long been familiar to everyone, but implementing it requires persistence and determination, especially from the youth. Recently, many youngsters living in urban areas have abandoned their comfortable lifestyles to preserve the environment from waste.

Starting with collecting waste on the beach, Mr. Le Thanh Long and his wife, residing in Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, moved from Buon Ma Thuot City to Da Nang and established the unique Tinh Tho Café with the motto "recycling waste".

He turned bottles, ropes, large pieces of wood, and other seemingly useless items into useful decorative items. Long shared “At first, people looked at me skeptically when they saw me collecting waste to decorate the café. Some even thought I was crazy, but for me, it was a way to recreate value from what was considered trash”.

Sharing the same "green lifestyle", the “Green Da Nang” Club has also been diligently working on environmental protection projects for the past two years.

Tra Thi Hong Anh, Deputy Head of the Club, stated that "Green Da Nang" was founded on the voluntary spirit of young people who wanted to engage in waste collection across the city and clean up after music and fireworks events.

“Every time we launch a campaign, we receive enthusiastic support from the community. Our group has now grown to over 100 members. This not only makes me happy but also shows that each small action by the club contributes to significant environmental change” Hong Anh shared.

Additionally, the green lifestyle is reflected in the choice of environmentally friendly products like cups, straws, and lunch boxes made from natural materials.

Ho Hoang Anh, owner of the Song Xanh (Green Living) grocery store in My An Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, mentioned that she hasn't used single-use plastic products for the past six years because of their harmful effects. Currently, her store exclusively uses glass bottles for storing products, gradually changing the consumption habits of locals and foreign visitors to the city.

In the context of increasing environmental concerns, the participation and contributions of the youth bring hope for a more sustainable future. Continuous efforts from young volunteer groups in Da Nang have helped raise awareness and mobilize the community to act for a green, clean, and beautiful environment. Activities such as recycling workshops, waste management, and beach and public area clean-up campaigns are becoming popular and attracting youth participation. Their persistence and creativity in approach have changed many people's perspectives and actions regarding environmental protection.

Phan Minh Hai, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches, expressed “We are impressed and grateful for the youth's contributions to protecting the environment at the beaches and Son Tra Peninsula. Especially since 2019, the close collaboration between the management board, the youth force, and local community support has brought positive changes to the marine environment". He also emphasized the effectiveness of the Clean Up Son Tra event, which regularly attracts nearly 800 volunteers, reflecting the young community's concern and practical actions towards the environment.
