Joining hands to build clean, beautiful and civilised residential area
In order to contribute to gradually changing the appearance of the locality, in recent times, officials and people of residential area No. 13 in Thanh Khe Tay Ward, Thanh Khe District have together joined efforts to build a clean, beautiful and civilised residential area.

The residential area No. 13 includes 4 residential groups with 346 households and 1,678 people in total. The residents majorly do small businesses, unskilled labor and nearshore fishing.
According to Mr. Le Lap, Head of the Front Work Committee of Residential Area No. 13, in the past, people's awareness about preserving and protecting the environment was still limited with the indiscriminate discharge of wastewater and garbage onto the streets, and piles of debris on vacant land lots. Most people expected investment from the State, so items serving people's daily activities, sports, and entertainment were almost non-existent.
Since such environmentally-friendly models as "Typical residential area", "Environmentally friendly residential area", "Residential area saying no to plastic waste", and "Free entertainment area for for children", were launched, the public awareness has been significantly raised. Accordingly, 100% of households in the residential area voluntarily commit to protecting the environment.
62-year-old Tran Thi An, a resident of residential group No.45, said that she has lived here for a long time. After the city carried out compensation clearance and urban beautification work, people's lives were improved, but many areas suffered from environmental pollution due to people's lack of awareness in cleanup.
Currently, the cleanup operation of alleys and roads, and the classification of waste at source, have become a routine, she noted.
In addition to installing lighting systems, local residents engage in raising funds for upgrading Vu Quynh - Phan Phu Tien alleys at a total cost of over VND25 million, and building a children's entertainment area and a sports field on an area of 350m2 at a total cost of nearly VND170 million.
Mrs. Tran Thi Toan, 40, in residential area No. 13 shared that she was very happy because her residential area now has a full range of items to serve the spiritual and entertainment needs of the community.
Mr. Le Hoang, Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Khe Tay Ward, said "The models built and implemented by Residential Area No. 13 have truly been effective, meeting life requirements of people. The roads and alleys are increasingly bright, green, clean, and beautiful. The material and spiritual life of local residents is increasingly enhanced".
