In recent times, various models and projects initiated by the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committees of residential areas in Thanh Khe Tay Ward, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang, have left a unique mark, aligning well with grassroots realities and earning recognition from the local populace.

The Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Khe Tay Ward, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang launched the model “Mobilising all citizens to display Uncle Ho’s portrait” across the ward in 2024

In line with the plan to mobilise support for the "Fund for the Poor" in 2024 set by the Standing Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front of Thanh Khe District, the Mobilisation Board of the ward-level "Fund for the Poor" proactively developed a plan and mobilised agencies, organisations, businesses, and all classes of people to contribute to the fund. As of 30 June 2024, over VND 353.2 million had been raised, surpassing the set target.

Additionally, the ward-based Front has provided capital and means of livelihood to three cases with over VND 22 million in total; assisted three cases with medical expenses amounting to VND 11 million; and offered 30 gifts to poor and especially disadvantaged households during the “All people’s border defence” festival in conjunction with the "Vietnamese people prioritise Vietnamese goods" festival.

The ward also collaborated with the Poverty Reduction Board to hold dialogues with 37 poor households and 10 near-poor ones. Through these dialogues, three households were provided with financial support for home repairs and six households with means of livelihood.

The ward and the Poverty Reduction Board also together raised VND 60 million for the "Gratitude fund" to care for social policy families and those who contributed to the nation. Furthermore, together with local organisations and donors, they mobilised support for over 1,000 Tet gifts for the poor, those near the poverty threshold, newly out-of-poverty households, and struggling workers, at a total of over VND 470 million.

Nguyen Thi Tham Em, a resident of Group 46 in Thanh Khe Tay Ward, shared that her family, classified as poor, received livelihood support from the ward-based Front, which provided a reclining shampoo chair and a haircutting chair worth VND 10 million for her hairdressing business. The livelihood support has equipped Em with the necessary tools for her hairdressing trade. Currently, her work is going well, providing a stable income to support the family.

The ward-based Front has conducted supervision sessions on issues related to the community’s well-being, such as administrative reforms at one-stop shops, urban order, environmental sanitation, waste collection, fire prevention, and public security in residential areas, as well as fundraising activities for needy people. They have also worked with member organisations to monitor urban civilisation, environmental hygiene, food safety, and construction orders.

In executing the 2024 emulation movement plan, the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committees of residential areas have registered to undertake numerous practical and effective models tied to the movement “All people unite to build new rural areas and civilised cities,” such as the "Safe, civilised, clean and beautiful alley" model and the “All people display Uncle Ho’s portrait” initiative.

The ward-based Front has regularly collaborated with the ward-level People’s Committee, the Police, and the Phu Loc Border Guard Station to launch movements such as “All people protect national security”, combat social evils, ensure traffic safety, and fire prevention, while integrating city-launched programmes and the district’s annual themes. They have sustained effective models like the "6 Ts" model “ Tan tam, Tan tuy, Tan tinh” (Wholehearted, Dedicated, Caring) encouraged households to uphold urban aesthetics and avoid infringing on sidewalks, partnered with the People’s Committee to train food safety for food service providers and independent childcare groups, and maintained the “Anti-motorbike theft sticker” model.

In the time to come, the ward-based Front will continue to encourage citizens to participate in patriotic emulation movements actively; enhance the "Studying and Following Ho Chi Minh’s Ideology, Morality, and Style" campaign for 2024; elevate the quality of the "Skillful mass mobilisation" emulation movement; improve the quality of the "Cultural family" and "Cultural residential area" movements; persist in mobilising the "For the poor" fund for 2024; and effectively organise activities during the "Peak month for the poor and social security".

According to Mr Le Hoang, Chairman of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Khe Tay Ward, the spirit of unity among the people, religions, and communities has been strengthened through these models and emulation movements. This unity fosters self-reliance, national pride, creative labour, production and business development, talent and initiative, mutual assistance for sustainable poverty reduction, and legitimate wealth creation, contributing to building a richer, more civilised country.
