Da Nang youth do charity work in A Luoi Highland
In the last days of July, the ‘Nhip Dap Yeu Thuong’ (Heartbeat of Love) Club under the Da Nang Youth Union successfully carried out the Love Summer charity programme 2024 in Quang Nham Commune, A Luoi District, Thua Thien Hue Province.
The 'Meals of Love' programme brings deliciousness and joy to 300 pupils at the Nham Primary School in A Luoi District. |
On July 26 and 27, the Club coordinated with the Da Nang-based 199 Hospital under Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, the Da Nang Oncology Hospital, the Central Command Department under the Guard Command, and the Huynh Doan Hair Salon, to organize a series of meaningful activities with a total budget of more than VND 73 million.
Included were 300 free meals for pupils at the Nham Primary School; free haircuts; 35 gifts, each worth VND400,000, for extremely disadvantaged households; 100 gifts, valued at VND 250,000 each, for poor pupils who have overcome difficulties to gain high academic results; ten 500W solar bulbs for the Nham Border Station; and free medical examinations and medicine to 200 people.
Mr. Tran Toan, Secretary of the Youth Union organisation of A Luoi District, said that the locality was very happy to receive the love and care of philanthropists and young people from Da Nang. He hoped that the Club will continue to promote the enthusiasm of youth and the spirit of youth volunteers, and have more meaningful programmes and activities for the community in the coming time.
Representing the philanthropists directly participating in the programme, Mrs. Truong Tuyet Nhung shared "The enthusiasm and dedication of young people when participating in charity activities show the sense of responsibility and compassion of a young generation. Through these activities, they not only help the less fortunate in society but also learn and practice skills, and create good relationships with the community. Small but good actions bring value to the community".
A Luoi is a revolutionary land where fierce battles took place during the resistance war against the US. Till date, historical relics and war artifacts are still preserved and displayed in the land, reminding today's generation of the patriotic tradition of the previous generations.
The Summer Love charity programme not only brings joy and spiritual values to the people of A Luoi but also shows the gratitude and spirit ‘back to roots’ of young people of Da Nang.
The Nhip Dap Yeu Thuong’ Club was established in 2016, consisting of students at universities in Da Nang. The club regularly organises the 'Meals of Love' charity programme on the 10th floor of the Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital.
In addition, the club also organises such meaningful programmes as ‘Spring of Love’, ‘Summer of Love’, and ‘Mid-Autumn Festival for Children’. The club prioritises supporting disadvantaged and unfortunate people, especially cancer patients.
