Many localities respond to 'Green, Clean and Beautiful Sunday' movement

On Sunday, many localities and units across Da Nang carried out activities to promote waste classification at source and environmental protection in response to the 'Green, Clean, Beautiful Sunday' movement and the Action Month for the Environment.

Specifically, the People's Committee of Thach Thang Ward, Hai Chau District, organised the festival "Green Environment - Digital Thach Thang" to propagate, guide, and raise community awareness on implementing solutions to reduce plastic waste, reuse and recycle waste, form the habit of classifying waste for each individual, household, and business, and promote the implementation of tasks to create a breakthrough in digital transformation for the locality.

During the festival, the People's Committee of Thach Thang Ward handed over categorized waste bins to 10 residential areas in order to implement waste classification. Representatives of party committees, front committees, associations and unions of residential areas engaged in exchanging recyclable items, and used batteries and cooking oil, for green trees or gifts.

At the same time, the festival’s participants were instructed about how to handle food waste, and register for a free personal digital signature; and equipped with knowledge and skills about digital transformation.

Meanwhile, the My An Ward People's Committee in Ngu Hanh Son District coordinated with the Da Nang Urban Environment JSC to collect recyclable waste in order to promote waste classification at source in the locality, as well as launch a general clean-up on a number of roads.

The People's Committee of Hoa Phuoc Commune in Hoa Vang District worked with the Office of Natural Resources and Environment of Hoa Vang District to widely publicise new regulations of the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 for authorities at all levels.

The authorities of Hoa Tien, Hoa Lien, Hoa Phong, Hoa Nhon and Hoa Chau communes in Hoa Vang District, and Nai Hien Dong Ward in Son Tra District, mobilised their officials and local people to take part in 'Green, Clean and Beautiful Sundays' movement.
