Known for his unwavering commitment, enthusiasm, and dedication to public service, Mr Nguyen Van Trung, Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, is a shining example of a true public servant. For over a decade, he has been steadfast in prioritising the community's interests above all.

As for Mr. Trung, being an official, especially a Front official, without being close to the people, not understanding them, and not earning their trust and love, is considered a failure. It is his simple, dedicated work style and sincere manner that make him a trusted and respected figure among the locals.

He recognises the profound significance and impact of the Front's work on the lives of local residents. Reflecting on the emulation movements in Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Mr Trung believes their success hinges on the leadership of the Party committees, the determination of the government, mass organizations, and the enthusiasm and exemplary behaviour of grassroots workers.

With this perspective, Mr Trung consistently sets an example in his conduct and work, regularly being present in the local area, and emphasising transparency and fairness in all dealings.

As shared by Mr Trung, to work effectively, an official must be exemplary, always maintaining credibility so that the people trust and follow; at the same time, being close to the people and prioritizing their interests above all else ensures success in any endeavour.

Driven by his dedication and sense of responsibility, he constantly seeks ways to unite the great solidarity bloc to introduce meaningful and practical models that benefit the people's lives.

Examples of his initiatives include the "Urban Village Gate" model; the "VND 3 Million- Residential Group Club" (now upgraded to the "VND 5 Million-Residential Group Club"); and the "Family Line Collaborates to Build a Civilised Urban Community" model. Despite being implemented several years ago, these models continue to thrive and expand, contributing significantly to poverty reduction, cultural life construction, and civilized living in the ward, earning high praise from various levels.

He actively coordinates with the Party committees, governments, and mass organisations to carry out mobilization work, successfully implement movements, and strive to build residential areas into exemplary cultural neighbourhoods, thereby improving residents' lives and maintaining local security and order.

In 2023, the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Khanh Bac Ward mobilised over VND 370 million, exceeding the set target. This funding helped many poor households stabilise their lives, supported the repair of three houses worth VND 50 million for the poor, provided nearly VND 40 million in livelihood tools and business capital for four households, gave Tet gifts, supported the sick, and awarded scholarships to disadvantaged students totaling nearly VND 300 million.

Additionally, the Ward-based Front Committee participated in supporting the construction of gratitude houses in Dien Bien Province and other northern provinces at a total cost of VND 50 million, coordinated with the Ward-based People's Committee to mobilise philanthropists and allocate funds to support over 380 temporary resident worker households and disadvantaged Catholic compatriots with nearly VND 190 million, and received and distributed nearly 4,300 gifts worth over VND 1.7 billion to policy families, revolutionary contributors, and the poor.

Under his leadership and the collective's efforts, the Hoa Khanh Bac Ward Fatherland Front has achieved outstanding task completion for many consecutive years, and being recognised as an excellent strong unit. Mr. Trung himself was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the President for his outstanding achievements in Front work for the 2017-2022 period and has received numerous Certificates of Merit and Commendations from various levels.

However, for Mr Trung, the trust and love of the people are the most precious rewards, motivating him to continue striving and dedicating his heart, mind, and strength to the front work in particular, and society in general.
