After more than a month of competition with five nights of performances, teams from Poland, Finland, the US, Germany, Italy, France, China and the host team Da Nang (Viet Nam) brought the audience in Da Nang eye-catching and unforgettable performances.

During each qualifying night, the grandstands, with more than 10,000 seats in total, were always full of spectators. In particular, the DIFF organisers added more than 1,600 seats to meet the increased demand of the audience in the final night.

Many visitors who did not buy tickets at grandstands in advance had to look for places to watch the fireworks outside of Tran Hung Dao Street, on buildings with balconies quite far from the main stand, or on cruise ships.

During the five competition nights of DIFF, 23 cruise ships offering more than 2,400 seats were eligible to operate on the Han River for tourists to enjoy fireworks performances. These ships were 100% full in the opening and final nights, and were almost full in the remaining nights.

On the occasion, the number of flights to Da Nang increased significantly. It is estimated that Da Nang receives an average of 110-120 flights per day. According to the municipal Department of Tourism, between July 11 and 13, Da Nang welcomed nearly 455 flights. On July 12 (a day ahead of the final night of DIFF 2024), 162 flights landed at Da Nang International Airport, up over 40% compared to weekdays. On July 13 , Da Nang received 147 flights, a rise of about 25-30% compared to normal days, including about 50 international flights (equivalent to 2023), and 97 domestic ones, an increase of nearly 8% against 2023.

In addition, many tourists chose to come to Da Nang by train and road. Especially, many families and groups of guests travelled to Da Nang by personal vehicles. On the final competition day of DIFF 2024, about 7,500-8,000 guests visited Da Nang by train.

The total number of guests served by accommodation establishments in the city during the four competition nights of DIFF 2024 was about 268,592 (an increase of 11.9% compared to the same period of DIFF 2023), of which 108,577 were foreigners, up 32.5% compared to the same period, and 160,015 were domestic guests, up 1.3%.

The city's room occupancy rate reached 70-77% on the first four competition nights of the event. On the final night alone, the number of guests served by accommodation establishments reached 90,017, of which international guests were 30,970 and domestic ones stood at 59,047.

The city’s overall room occupancy rate is estimated at 90%, of which 4 to 5-star hotels and equivalent generated an estimate of 80-85%, and 3-star hotels and below or equivalent was 90-95%.

The aforementioned positive results were mainly attributed to the great efforts made by local authorities and functional bodies in stabilising price, and ensuring traffic safety, environmental sanitation, food safety and hygiene, during the fireworks festival and the peak summer tourist season.

It can be seen that DIFF 2024 has become the focus of this summer, and the quality of the event is constantly renewed, contributing to affirming Da Nang title as 'Asia's Leading Festival and Events Destination' and promoting the local socio-economic development.

DIFF has been increasingly becoming a spiritual dish for domestic and international tourists every summer, and a unique brand of Da Nang with the affectionate name "city of fireworks". To maintain this brand, Da Nang strives to constantly renew itself in order to adapt to the current general trend of the world.

DIFF 2024 has concluded but its echoes still remain. The mission of the fireworks season has ended but it has opened up new, more brilliant chapters for Da Nang.
