Many activities show mark of Da Nang youth

To welcome the 8th Congress of the Da Nang Youth Federation in the 2024 - 2029 term, the youth in the city have carried out many meaningful projects and tasks.

In early August, 80 leaders and officials of the Youth Union organisation of Hai Chau District competed in the "Youth Leader" contest. The purpose of the contest was to seek outstanding youth leaders, towards standardising the Youth Union staff in units and schools.

In addition to the youth skills such as proficiency in sending and receiving Morse and Semaphore signals, tying ropes, marking roads, translating secret letters, and building camps, there were flash mob performances, group singing and dancing, physical games, and teambuilding games.

The content of the contest aimed to comprehensively develop youth skills from understanding history and culture to mastering youth activities and creating a fun, age-appropriate living environment.

Also at the same time, the Youth Union organisation of Hai Chau District coordinated with the district-based Culture - Sports Centre to organise a folk dance and flashmob contest entitled "Colourful Dance" with the participation of 13 teams.

Deputy Secretary of the district-level Youth Union organisation Le Vien Thanh affirmed that the annual contest created a useful playground for Youth Union members and young people in the district in summer.

Meanwhile, the Youth Union organisation of Lien Chieu District supported the construction of a new house for the family of Mrs. Pham Linh Phi residing in Hoa Minh Ward. Her family is a poor household, and she is seriously ill. Mrs. Phi's husband takes care of all the burdens of life alone.

With the financial aid of VND50 million funded by the Youth Union organisation and the Business Association of the district, the family of Mrs. Phi started building a house in early June.

Secretary of the district’s Youth Union organisation Huynh Thanh Binh said that the unit has always paid attention to social welfare work, thereby, demonstrating the role and responsibility of Youth Union members and young people in showing gratitude to social policy beneficiaries and families with meritorious services; at the same time, arousing patriotism, national pride and responsibility among young people in the current period.

On August 6, the municipal Youth Federation organised an exhibition of OCOP and creative startup products to welcome its 8th Congress for the 2024-2029 term. Accordingly, 10 innovative science and technology products, 10 OCOP products, and 10 start-up products made by the city's youth were displayed.

With the product "Solid hydrogen storage system in smart cities", a group of students from the University of Science and Technology under the University of Da Nang received much attention of many delegates, guests and businesses.

Vo Du Dinh, a member of the research team, said that the system can convert hydrogen from gas, liquid to solid form for easy storage and transportation without causing risks of unsafety or explosion. The system has high applicability in industrial production.

According to Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union and Chairman of the Youth Federation Nguyen Ba Duan, this was one of the important activities contributing to the success of the 8th Congress of the Youth Federation for the 2024 - 2029 term held on August 7.

The exhibition was an opportunity to encourage and promote the spirit of creativity, and daring to think, daring to do of the city's youth in the industrialisation and modernisation period. At the same time, it facilitated young people to connect with businesses and social resources in order to realise creative ideas and support startup activities.
