Spirit of volunteerism in "Youth 24/7"
Wherever needed, the youth are promptly present. This is the spirit of volunteerism for the community demonstrated by the members of the "Youth 24/7" model initiated by the Da Nang Youth Union. Over a year of implementation, the model has attracted the participation of 104,552 youth union members.

Established in 2021, during the complicated developments of COVID-19 pandemic, the "Youth 24/7" Team under the Youth Union organisation in Thanh Khe Dong Ward, Thanh Khe District, actively got involved in controlling the outbreak in the locality. Currently, the team continues to promote its proactive role in digital transformation in the ward.
According to Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Secretary of the ward-based Youth Union organisation, the "Youth 24/7" Team is divided into several groups to assist over 3,000 households in 49 residential groups to set up electronic citizen accounts. The team regularly supports locals to register for electronic citizen accounts on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the ward's “One-Stop Shop”. Additionally, the volunteers actively engage in reinforcing homes, and relocating residents to safe shelters during rainy and stormy seasons.
In My An Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, the "Youth 24/7" Team has repeatedly supported people in need during late nights.
Secretary of the ward’s Youth Union organisation Tran Tan Huy mentioned that the team consistently comprised 7 to 10 members who cover their own operational costs.
Recently, upon receiving news of a person who had fallen into the river near Tran Thi Ly Bridge, the team quickly arrived on the scene to provide first aid and transport the victim to the Da Nang Hospital.
"When we help others and see them safe, we feel very happy. That is the biggest motivation for the entire team to always be ready before any unexpected events requiring assistance" Huy shared.
According to Le Xuan Thanh, Secretary of the Ngu Hanh Son district-based Youth Union organisation, during the rainy season, the locality, being near the sea, often evacuates residents from two adjacent areas with non-solid houses to safer locations. With the volunteer spirit, Youth Union members quickly coordinate with functional forces to help residents reinforce their homes, mitigate damage, and prepare plans for thorough cleaning to help them stabilise their lives immediately after storms and floods. Additionally, they regularly engage in weekend clean-up activities to remove illegal advertisements and protect the environment.
In Hoa Vang District, volunteer youth teams are actively involved in new-style rural building projects, assisting in the construction of concrete roads and the installation of street lights, supporting underprivileged students in the locality, and encouraging youth in ethnic minority areas to develop their economies and escape poverty.
To raise awareness of the responsibilities of the Youth Union chapters at all levels in implementing the “Skillful mass mobilization” movement, Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Youth Union Nguyen Thi Anh Thao stated that the Youth Union's Standing Committee has issued a directive for district and ward-level Youth Union organisations to establish "Youth 24/7" teams in their localities. Team members are required to be proactive and engaged in union activities, quickly responding to important and urgent activities in the locality. The teams are divided into several groups that rotate through various residential areas to promptly grasp the local situation and be ready to assist when needed.
Over the past year, the entire city has organised activities involving 104,552 youth members in local volunteer initiatives, establishing 102 new civilised streets and alleys with criteria of "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful - Civilised - Safe"; planting 30,386 trees; and repairing or constructing 2 km of rural traffic roads.
With these achievements, the "Youth 24/7" model has received a commendation from the Minister of Public Security for its outstanding contributions to the "All People Protecting National Security" movement in the 2018-2023 period.
