Winners of a contest to seek the best ideas for floral displays, lighting decorations, mascot and decorative symbols in Da Nang for the forthcoming Tet Festival 2025 were announced on Friday.

The annual event has been held over the past 11 years. The winning and non-winning designs have been all applied for decorating flowers, lighting and mascots on flower streets and public venues in the city on major public holidays.

This year's contest attracted 31 entries from student groups of universities, and design consulting units, citywide. 22 of them were ideas for floral displays and lighting decorations, whilst the remaining 9 were designs about mascot and decorative symbols for the 2025 Tet Festival.

After the evaluation and selection process, the municipal People's Committee has granted certificates to 12 prize winning design ideas.

Specifically, as for the idea of floral displays and lighting decorations, the first prize went to the "Quang Nien Thien Ty" project, and second prize to "Tet 2025 knocks on the door, full of spring" project, both developed by groups of students from the University of Science and Technology - University of Da Nang.

"Sac Mau Han Giang" (Colours of Han River) by the C.A.P Design Studio company took the third prize. Meanwhile, “Xuan Hieu” and “Development of Da Nang, The year 2025 is prosperous” by the group of students from the University of Science and Technology - University of Da Nang, and the “Phu Dang Hoa” project by the group of students from the Da Nang University of Architecture, shared the consolation prizes.

Regarding the design ideas for mascot and decorative symbols to serve the Tet 2025, the C.A.P Design Studio company grabbed the first prize for its “At Ty Du Xuan” (Snake makes spring travel) project. The second prize went to the “Tet 2025 knocks on the door, full of spring” project, and the third prize to the “Su Gia Mua Xuan” (Messenger of Spring) project. Three consolation prizes were given to the “Khoi Dau Moi, Su Tai Sinh” (New beginning, rebirth), “Thien Ty Nghinh Xuan” (Year of Snake welcomes spring), and “Hoa Su Xuan” (Spring Plumeria) by the groups of students from the University of Science and Technology - University of Da Nang.

According to the municipal Department of Construction, both winning and non-winning ideas will be studied for decorations for Tet and major public holidays in 2025.
